One summer day I hitched a ride. Now this was no normal ride, this was a fast moving, spinning ride. No, it’s not a merry-go-round. It was a tornado. Yes, you read that right, I hitched a ride on a tornado.
Oh what an adventure it was. A little windy and loud, but oh so much fun. I got to see things, I have never seen before. Soar at new heights. Now I must tell you, I am very afraid of heights, and falling. So, how did I not fall from the tornado? I don’t really know, I just somehow held on.
It was sort of peaceful ride, calming, and adventurous. I even had some friends that popped in, you know a cow here, a bird there, but they never stayed long. Just me hanging on, spinning through the air, every once in a while it would go low to the ground, but never took out any buildings.
Most people think that tornadoes are scary and awful, they just pop up and destroy everything. I believe that they are scary but they are also an amazing natural creation. I love to stand and watch them. But, today I am taking the twirling trip with one.
Whipping through the forest, and by the lakes, once in a while changing directions. I’ve seen people running, and hiding. I would shout, we are not going to hurt you, but they couldn’t hear me. They just kept running, as I twisted on by.
It was an eventful night to say the least, but eventually the wind tunnel died down. I had no idea where I was, but when I opened my eyes, I was laying on my front lawn. Smiling from the whirling good time!
How could someone survive that, you ask? They can’t. Maybe it was all just a dream. Or was that it?
